Florentine Presents: Descent into Madness
Melancholy, histeria, insanity, depression, blinding rage or euphoria - every era of opera from Early Modern to Bel Canto/Romantic and today has explored and expressed psyches pushed to the edge. Whether Don Quixote or Adina, composers gave voice to these moments of madness. The Baumgartner Studio Artists explore these extremes in song.

Spotlight: Vivica Genaux & Jory Vinikour
Performing Baroque gems on harpsichord, “Vinikour makes a concert an experience, in the very best sense of the word. His playing excites the ear.” Conducting The Coronation of Poppea in 2019 for the Florentine, he delighted the audience with his musicality. Vinikour and internationally recognized Genaux blaze their way through virtuosic and beloved Baroque repertoire.

La Boheme
Experience one of the most beloved romances ever written, now set in 1950s Milwaukee Bronzeville neighborhood. Luxuriate in the lush movie music as a team of all-stars tell this double love story and bromance in a fresh way. Enjoy stage art created by 2019 Nohl Fellowship winner Ras ‘Ammar Nsoroma. Bronzeville expert and dramaturg Sheri Williams Pannell who helps us explore this thriving-again city within our city, and the artists and citizens who built it.
