Eugenia Arsenis is a Director, Dramaturg and Dr. in Philosophical Aesthetics. As a director, she has collaborated with international organizations (Royal Albert Hall, Center for Contemporary Opera, San Francisco Opera Center, Skylight Music Theatre, Oakland Metro Operahouse, Greek National Opera, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Megaron Athens Concert Hall, Goethe Institute, Berlin – Dock 11 etc). Among others, for her performance Mendelssohn’s Antigone, which she directed and adapted at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms with the City of London Sinfonia and the BBC Singers, she was honored at the Antikenfestspielein Trier. She was also honored to direct the Merola Grand Finale for the 50th year anniversary of the San Francisco Opera Center with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. Moreover, she was invited to open the International University Festival in Casablanca, Morocco. Her play, Women of Passion, Women of Greece, which explores the cultural history of Greece through three important figures, travelled the past few years from Australia to India. She was the Coordinator and Dramaturg of the Experimental Stage of the Greek National Opera from the moment of its inception and, she is the Dramaturg of the Center for ContemporaryOpera in New York.

 She has participated with lectures in a number of international conferences. She has taught Directing at the Department of Theatrical Studies at the University of Peloponnese, Opera at the Music Department of the Ionian University, Opera and Musical Theatre at the Music Department of the University of Athens and, she was the Coordinator of the Acting for Opera School of the AthensConservatory, the National Conservatory, the Modern Conservatory ofAthens and, currently, the Kodály Conservatory. She has also designed the Minor in Theater and Performanceprogram at the Hellenic American University since 2009.

 She was the President of the Hellenic Center of the International Theatre Institute, Registrar of Public Relations of the Hellenic Theatre Studies Association, Board Member of the National Theatre of Northern Greece and Board Member of the Greek Film Center. She is member of the Cultural Committee of the Hellenic–American Chamber of Commerce, Creative Director of the international forum Artivism Drives Democracy and, she is the delegate of the Greek Directors’ Guild at the Federation of European Directors.

 She has studied Dramaturgy and Directing at the Department of Drama, Theatre and Media Arts at Royal Holloway University of London. She pursued her postgraduate studies in Philosophy and her Doctorate in Philosophical Aesthetics, Opera and Greek Tragedy at the University of London. She was Visiting Researcher at the School of Music of the College of Fine Arts at Boston University for Musical Analysis and Opera Directing. Moreover, she studied Film Directing at the New York Film Academy. She was trained over fourteen years in the theory and the performance of music and dance. Throughout her studies she received a number of scholarships, among them, Scholarships from the: Fulbright Scholarship for Artists and Art Scholars, Onassis Foundation, National Bank Cultural Foundation, New York Film Academy, Royal Holloway University of London, New York Film Academy, San Francisco Opera Center, Bogliasco Foundation and the Greek State Scholarship.
