Opera in Schools Tour - This program brings a fully costumed and staged children's opera to schools, libraries, and other organizations. The Florentine Opera is excited to present a reduced version of the The Child and the Enchantments to young audiences during the 2023/2024 school year. Of our school partners, up to 15 schools receive multi-visit performance preparation, and take part in the show to an audience of their peers.
Opera Inside Out - This is an interactive program that gives Middle and High School students a behind-the-scenes look at all the elements that contribute to producing an opera and introduces students to career opportunities on and off the stage. It focuses on a range of areas including stage direction, costumes, make-up, lighting design, props, vocal performance and arts administration.
Opera Up Close - The Florentine Opera’s Donald and Donna Baumgartner Studio Artists present arias and ensembles at a school or at the Lueders Opera Center. In addition to hearing their beautiful voices, high school audiences also get to interact with the artists and ask questions. This can also include a student feedback or audition readiness component.
